Character/Rescue story:

What can we say about Sonia that won't make her sound like she is straight out of a fairy tail (pun intended)? This girl is the perfect companion for just about any activity and adventure. Whether it's hiking in the forest, playing ball at the park, hanging at the beach or smothering her favorite people with lots of kisses. When she's out and about, she's happy to meet other dogs, people and kids- we're just not sure how she feels about cats yet. She is very curious and is always discovering her surroundings through her nose. We have noticed some potential prey drive as she gets her nose to the ground and likes to search for critters in the forest. We think she would do amazing with scent training and after some trial jumps we've discovered she also enjoys agility! She is a strong girl, who can pull on her leash when there's something she's interested in so we're working on her leash training. That said, she is smart, eager to learn and very sweet and gentle.

At just 1 year old, Sonia came to our shelter partners very pregnant. After giving birth and being a wonderful mama to 8 puppies, she's now ready to find her forever home where she can be a happy go lucky dog. She does have a lot of energy, so we think an active home with people who enjoy adventures and activity would be best for her. But rest assured, after a good walk she's happy to just curl up and is very quiet. All in all, she's simply a great, balanced dog that would be a great addition to any person or family.
