This is sweet Autumn; an approximately 3 year old coonhound. Her incredible rescuer had heard about a local dog that hadn't left an apartment in over a year; possibly longer. And even more tragically, the owner passed away. How she survived, we don't know. She was completely skin and bones and terrified. Her rescuer acted immediately and did whatever it took to get her to safety - and for her we are so grateful. Autumn was extremely emaciated and terrified. There was a full bin of food in the apartment but it was untouched. Everything was new for her outside the apartment- confirming she really had not been exposed to much in a very long time.... Possibly most of her life.

 But this lovely pup now has a new lease on life and a second chance! She is only about 3 years old and has so much more life to live! She is already a completely different dog!

 From her rescuer and current foster: Autumn is slowly gaining healthy weight and learning what it is to be a dog again. She has already gained 6 lbs and is house trained. She loves to be with dogs and people and is super snuggly and friendly. She is already learning to be off leash trained for re-call in the trails with treats. She loves forest sniffing and running- would be a great hiking or mtn bike companion. Crate trained during the day. Disclaimer- not good with cats- wants to chase and we are just starting to work on better leash etiquette with a front attach harness. For now she is a puller. She will need to stay with us a bit longer for her spay and recovering and then will be ready for her forever home.
